The Centre for Soccer Excellence program (CSE) was established in 2003
at Reynolds Secondary School in Victoria BC, Canada.
We were proud to be recognized by "Maclean's Magazine" in Aug. 2005
as a major part of one of "Canada's Top 10 Schools".
We are very proud of the more than 80 students who have played, or are currently playing university or college soccer.
The Objective of the CSE is to provide a formal training program within the regular timetable of the school with a strong commitment to excellence in student achievement, both academic and technical. We value helping our students with their athletic development and their personal development.
The primary focus is individual skill development.
Within the CSE blocks, students meet the learning outcomes of Physical and Health Education and a unique Sport Specific course called "Principles of Sport" (Soccer) at each grade level. Students receive on-field and classroom instruction in order to meet these course objectives.
In addition to the Technical aspects of Soccer students also develop an understanding and appreciation for:
- Nutrition
- Fitness/Conditioning and Agility
- Strength Training
- Goal Setting
- Mental preparation
- Basic Anatomy
- Cross-training
- Laws of the Game
- History of Soccer
- Injury Prevention
